Acupuncture |
Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin, sterilized stainless steel, disposable needles into specific points on the surface of the skin. According to the theory upon which Chinese Medicine is based, acupuncture allows the flow of "qi" (defined as "life force" or " healing force" ) to areas in the body where it is lacking and away from areas of the body where it is in abundance. In this way, acupuncture can restore the free flow of qi, thereby harmonizing and energizing the entire body. |
Herbs |
Chinese herbal medicine has been a natural and primary therapeutic remedy for the full range of human illnesses (both acute and chronic conditions) for thousands of years. The therapeutic function of Chinese herbal medicine is determined by a specific herb's taste, temperature, channels entered, and specific category of action. The possible uses of such herbal medicines include, but are not limited to, the nourishment of Yin/Yang, regulation of qi/blood, and alleviation of dampness/phlegm. Different Chinese herbs can be combined to increase or promote therapeutic effectiveness and to accommodate complex clinical conditions. |
